Really depends what you are fishing for Stocko, The beaches hold XXL sambos at times as well as tailor and jew, the 2 breakwalls will put you within reach of Jewfish, flathead, bream in fact pretty well everything, the backside of stocko from the ferry wharf and all the way around the bridge is good bream territory as well as flathead, the harbour at times will see schools of bonito and other small pelagics from time to time as well. Keep an eye on the Newy Herald and the local papers for whats on the bite at what time.

Cheers

Hey Mate,

:1welcomeani: . You have come to the right place for help.

What type of fish are you after?

The breakwall at the moment is producing plenty of Jewies. A run up tide on dusk with a livie or slab of mullet into the harbour side of the wall and your in with a good shot.

The beach fisehes well throughout the year, depending on what your after will depend on your gear and bait. You need to get at least north of the sea-wall so look for the soccer fields on the way into stoko. On their north bondary is a 'track' that you can drive down in a car, it will take you to the beach.

Under the bridge is good for flathead, bream and whiting.

If you need more specific information or anything let me know.

Daniel

i might try the brakewall when up there.

:1welcomeani:

with me mate i have a 12ft wilson beach rod it does the job and then i have 6ft fibre glass tiped

rod that i bought for bargain $10 and a reel that i bought from my fish and tackle joint for $22 with reverse drag its better then a cheap reel last forever and 6pound line for the bream bass flatties I find that the

lighter the line the better. But mate when you go fishing at anytime just ask around, fisho's look after

each other they will tell you the good spots then a favourite comes :biggrin2::thumbup::beersmile::1fishing1:

stockton beach is a very productive fishing spots (knowing its a massive beach haha)

i went up there on a family holiday with 45 family members on mine :1yikes:

(i know its big and thats only one side)

but my cousin and i one night decided to go for a beach fish at 10pm haha

the current was really strong so our bait were getting pushed away

i caught my first beach fish that night on a old prawn

a 41cm bream which is a pb for a bream and my first beach fish

we headed back to the car at about 12 midnight

and the car ran out of petrol......... :ranting2::05:

haha

cheers tight lines
