yakfishing Posted February 1, 2008 Share Posted February 1, 2008 Sorry no pic, I dont have a waterproof camera yet. It was caught in Kioloa - NSW south coast inshore waters. My ones were very close in appearance to the coral cod but the colours werent as vibrant, and they were a bit darker. The eyes were a bit closer to the snout too a bit like a barra. True it may not be a cod, and probably isnt thinking about it now as the cod seem to be a bit longer and have eyes further from the snout. made Coral Trout?? Nah theyre tropical, Im looking for south NSW This is the closest pic I can find to the shape of it. Scrap the cod idea.. I should have asked the locals as they are pretty common down there I picked up two of them. It may well be a Wirrah or an estuary cod with different colours.
