Been mucking around with the gain etc and due to the 4500 being dual frequancy 50/200 I am struggling setting it up to locate fish etc. Any chance anyone who either has the navman 4500 or knows of someone who does that coulf help me out with the gain and the threshold i would be most grateful and would owe them for their time and help. Cheers Lee
Bashir
If fishing inshore, set the sounder to 200khz. If you are still having difficulties, then maybe you need to look at transducer locations.
Guest Jocool
By gain, do you mean the sensetivity? My Lowrance has a Sensetivity control. from what I have been told, the best way is to turn it to full. When on full you will basically get a black screen. Then back it of gradually till you can define the bottom, and any fish/debris that may be in the water. Dont know if that helps.
