Braidbuster Posted March 4, 2008 Share Posted March 4, 2008 Fished the lower reaches of the Harbour.Lots of bream 30-25cm ,Trevs to 28cm,Luderick 33cm ,and a few midday squid ,arrow +calamari 4 to 20cm hood .Had to work for them all species and use light gear- 2kg.Lost a few bigger bream +trevs.Spotted lots of tiny 20cm Frigates (Big King baits) no joy on lures-too big-maybe a fly would do.A Jew was caught at Watsons Baxw wharf last nightfrom the scales i est. 4kg. Heard that a King was landed further up inside the Harbour at Walsh Bay yesterday by some lucky young fella.Guess I was wrong to assume that the fresh would drive them down towards the heads.This happened last year ,but in the spring ,when the water was cooler.
