Lake Macquarie

G'day all,

I am thinking about taking the boat to lake Macquarie, but I am not familiar with the area.

can any one give me any tips /pointers/ likely spots for fishing.

What about crabbing - any one know if witches hats are permitted ?

will be Staying near Nords Wharf if that helps

Witches hats are permitted and there are plenty of crabs around at the moment, Tailor are running hot in the lake between Coal pnt, Fishing pnt and wangi Point. Bream are also about around the private jetties and most weedy areas off the prominant headlands and points, A 12kg Cobia was hooked and landed just over a week ago at the dropover where the channel meets the lake but I wouldnt expect that to happen too regularly.

Well worth throwing the boat in at the moment provided this weather eases up.

Dont want to hijack your post - but razorfish (a shellfish) are a problem in some of the lakes, does anyone have any details ? I had seen them some time back when we were tubing up there on the western side.
