THE SHIRES JOHN Mc INTIRE CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF FISHING

Fishing has been most productive both inshore and offshore over the past fortnight.

Out wide the yellowfin run has started. Glenn Hunter’s Billfisher caught two yellowfin to 41 kg as did Rob Curry on Marquis and Mark Mikellsen on Triton.

The yellowfin were trolled on bibles minnows out wide.

The big fish were caught in the John McIntire tournament run by the Port Hacking Gamefishing club to celebrate John’s 50 years of gamefishing.

The event was enjoyed by all competitors with 15 boats fishing celebrating John Mc Intire’s amazing lifetime of gamefishing Well done Macka!

There was a 269 mako caught on 15kg by Chill Factor and Just Chill won tag and release Billfisher caught a 40.9 kg tuna for angler Peter Mc Nally a personal best.

We are taking bookings now for tuna trips and will be starting our snapper days down south in June.

The is still the odd striped marlin around the 120 fathom line I raised a striped last trip

Blue marlin are also worth targeting The Botany Bay Gamefishing vessel Nemo scored a 238 kg blue last week for angler Steve Schnepp it was a personal best.

Well done to billfisher,good to see some nice yellowfin showing up & hopefully the start of a good season

coming up.

But i also cant wait too for the snapper season to get cranking this winter & hopefully some great fishing

like last season,will probably see you down there again soon Ross.
