hornet435
Has any one had expeince buying from the US?. Are there charges once the reels come into Australia? Warranty issues? Any experijnce with All-American Outdoors? Thanks
gretsch
You will pay duty and GST for anything over $1000AUD. They lifted the threshold a few years ago. It used to be $250 which would have ruined everything. I buy all my reels from the US or Japan. Never had any problems. Be sure to buy from reputable dealers and check out your insurance particulars on your credit card. You should make sure you are covered.

Kruzenvax
I was bying gear from US (basspro, #$#$#$) - though not reels - never had problems with them. Now - when I'm lloking for shimano stradic/twin power reel - went there and noticed that tey seem to have better range? E.g. stradic comes in FI (avaliable here) model as well as "higher spec'd" MgB model???? Edited May 15, 2008 by Kruzenvax
gretsch
The MG modles don't have the Aerowrap II and flared spool etc.. they are wind knot city! Make sure the Stradics you guy are the FI model otherwise, you will be a frustrated unit.
martymonsta
I have bought from Great American Outdoors and Basspro and have been more than happy with their service. Another source is http://reelfishingdeals.com who offer good deals. E.g. Baitrunner 4500B/Saros US $120 delivered or Stradic FIs for US$145 delivered. With the exchange rate the way it is you can't go wrong Marty
