arpie
Hi guys Caught up with his last night - WA University monitoring fish stocks in a non invasive way! Well worth a look at the 5 minute video! Some terrific snapper & other fish shown 'in situ' http://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/stories/2352062.htm It'll be good if we can follow their videos on Google Earth, when available! arpie
It was even better on the big screen. I tried making it bigger on the computer to watch, but it became very static. Did you see the shark in the earlier shot? Looked like a grey nurse, not to mention the big White Pointer with the hook in its snout! Loved the big snapper & the funny octopus! Love looking at shots like that Cheerio Roberta
pelican
Nice to know there is actually some research going on. Watched it last night and only hope the smart person who thought of it patents the video sled idea so they get some funding. It will save researchers so much money and time - brilliant. I love Aussie simplicity If researchers can get real facts on fish distribtion size and health they may better be able to assess what humans are doing to them and their environment. Real data will lead to real answers or at least proof of what existed so others can work it out in the future Edited September 5, 2008 by pelican
