italian stallion
it all started when my mate Joe (slayer 666) told me bout fish raider and said that we were going to a fishing social. I was a little nervous at first cause i have not been fishing for long, but at the same time i was looking forward to just going fishing. So it came to Sunday where i picked up my mate Joe (slayer666) and off we went, on the way to botany for a fish. We got there and much to my surprise the people there at fish raider were very hospitable and friendly with willing to help. before we started to walk down the people from fish raider gave us breakfast which was great start to the day as food and drinks were provided, so me and Joe (slayer 666) started to walk down to the beach, I then suggested to my mate for us to start fishing closer to the rocks away from the people and the boats. So we started 10mins after a few casts, much to a surprise Joe hooked on to his first flat head, his excitement was bizzar he pulled out a 48cm flat head, i was happy for him hoping that he would catch the biggest flat head but at the same time i was a little angry that i did not even get a bite so he then told me that he was going to get his fish measured and weight. As he was bout half way there my rod gets smashed like the as if u caught a shark, but then i thought that i could have been stuck in the rocks, but i'm looking at the line and it's no where near the rocks, so i keep on winding in and it's pulling me inn, so i keep on winding and at that time i knew i had a decent size fish. after 10 long minutes of pulling him inn it felt like my arms were bout to fall off i then get him in the net, i could not get my lure out cause he swallowed it properly, walking back to were the fish raider people were my word it was a long walk to where they were. i finally get there, and the best part was the look on their faces when i walked up cause they had not seen the fish yet they were sort of looking at me funny as to say why have i walked back. but when they saw the fish that i have caught their jaws almost fell to floor, the flat head that i caught measured at 72cm and almost 3kg. That was the best part of the day and the fact that i was enjoying myself with my closest mate and that the people were so helpful made that day a very good day out. arpie
Well done Italian Stallion!! And to Fishraider!! What a great introduction to fishing with your new buddies at the Social last weekend!! Congratulations also on your first ever Flathead, too! And what a flattie it was!! With the flattie taking the whole lure down its throat, you were really lucky to get him landed without busting off! We look forward to reading more fishing reports from you in the near future! slinkymalinky
Hey Marco, What an awesome fish. The smile on your face was so big on Sunday it arrived back at the park about 5 minutes before you did. Hope the arm muscles have stopped aching by now but I'm betting it will be a while before your smile muscles and talking muscles relax. Seeing you and Joe catching fish like those 2 flatties was one of the hightlights of my fishing year. Congrats to both of you. Cheers, Slinky
