trungie
When rigging pillies is it better to rig them to swim head first or tail first when you retrieve? Does it matter if you are ganging or snelling or single hooking?
Juzza
doesnt it depend on what you want to catch as well? Justin
Guest Big-Banana
I've caught plenty of Tuna on backward fed pillies. Done the same with Snapper. Although with Snapper I do prefer to use a two hook rig and rig em' head first down the trail. Forget gangs unless you're off the beach. When it only helps to hold the bait on and if you're using pillies, they should be salted anyways.
trungie
My mate's belief is he rigs them backwards as tailor and salmon off the beach will take the bait easier head first. Any truth in that? Juzza: Salmon / Tailor.
daleyboy
I've generally found that Tailor will almost always go for the tail first, so it dioesnt matter which way you rig them, as long as you have a hook point in the tail area
dpinta
I always rig them head first
the1murph
haha which way do you roll.... well i always roll head first because when using single hooks i put it through that really hard part of their head and if using ganged hooks i use a thing called bait buddy which really holds the pillie together. forliano
Hey mate... I prefer head first... But so long as you have a hook in it and its in the water, you're always a chance, just depends on the fish... Cheers Ben

bluedog
i've always used them head first and had no dramas. daleyboy Posted Today, 08:38 AM I've generally found that Tailor will almost always go for the tail first, so it dioesnt matter which way you rig them, as long as you have a hook point in the tail area yeah tailor tend to attack from the rear so always make sure you have a hook in that area
