Boat Capsize Sunday

Hey not to sure if this is the right place to post in the forum...

But was anyone else out fishing out wide of cronulla sunday around 9.30ish and witness the sharkcut boat capsize ? not sure what type of sharkcut it is but around 23ft, had 8 divers,

all out diving then the person on the boat was waving other boats around down, the transom started going down then the whole boat started sinking from the transom untill the boat fliped.

Dont think anyone got injured.

Fast response from the lifeguards and rescue team with maritime. We picked up one diver drifting away from the group towards the rocks, and lifeguards and rescue team picked up the rest.

BUT VERY FAST response from the boats fishing around the area. Good Stuff

If anyone was fishing in port hacking, they would of seen us driving with the rescue boats with their sirens on ??

Everyone probaly thought we were in trouble being escorted back by the yellow maritime or rescue/lifeguards boats lol.... but really we had one of the divers on board with us and taking them back to wallys wharf.

Asking if anyone else witnessed the boat capsizing ?

Anyone know the reason behind the boat capsizing ?

Hi Brfo .

I haven't actually witnessed a capsizing , but while I was down Wingdang last week , we were fishing Lake Illawarra . We finished our session and thought we might head back to our uncles , when all of a sudden the big Ambulance helipcopter lands in a Park . We packed the boat up and drove over & went to check it out , couldn't see what had happened . We spoke to our uncles mate who lives across the road from the lake and he said that a boat trying to cross the bar had a wave roll right over the back of it , and then it all went bad from there.

Anyway , I'm not sure if this information is correct or not , but it does sound true , considering we walked out on the brake wall a night or two before and saw how dangerous it looked. From what we were told , most people just drive out to Shellharbour and go out from there.

Anyone else hear about it or see it ?

It would be good if someone could clear it up for me .

Cheers , Rhys :1fishing1:

Mate, top job well done, I was out there later that afternoon so missed it. But its always great to hear of fellow boaties helping each other out, thankgod they were divers huh, at least they'd be fairly well prepared for going in the water.

Cheers Tobe

Just doing what everyone else would of done...

Well actually the guy we picked up, he was absolutely exhausted, we had to pull him in. He was on our floor trying to catch his breath while we unhooked his tanks and equipment and helped him up. Gave him a hot cup of tea and he was alright.

Anyone else witness it or heard anything about it ?

Brad
