Langa Posted March 7, 2009 Posted March 7, 2009 Hi all, I have recently weened myself off Gulps, replacing them with poppers which I have been using almost exclusively with mixed results, most opinions I hear are that top water action slows in winter and most don't even try. Is there any point using poppers as the months get colder or should I pack them away untill spring? Cheers, Langa
The Iceman Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Only way to find out is to try it but try fishing warm sunny afternoons and find areas of slightly warmer water
donjuarez Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 I have found that the surface action completely shuts down in winter.. Plastics still work when fished slowly... if you're trying to get off plastics cut over to blades.. again, fish them slowly like a plastic.. can't go wrong!
