You dont have to set the datum used in the map or phone do you? A few hundred metres sounds somewhat like wrong datum. Just a suggestion.

Do you have to choose the phone model with GPS inbuilt? Mate has an iphone without GPS. This application looks pretty schmick

you dont have to mess with the datum

there isnt even a option for it

this app will work with the original iphone without the gps

but since it doesnt have GPS it will be relying on triangulation from cell towers to pinpoint your location

and this isnt very accurate it will be out a good couple hundred meters possibly even more when your out on the water

its a great app and for its current price its great

sadly its going into retirement on my phone as ive just bought a garmin 420s plotter/fish finder for my boat

but will still come into good use when out fishing with other mates

I have an iphone and have seen the apps talked about - my question is:

How will you power the iphone - they use alot of power and you wouldnt be able to have the app running all day.

Anyone got an idea? Maybe install a usb plug into the dash ?

or just simply get a cig lighter attachment in boat and have cig lighter charger for iphone
