caught a few of these things

these are about 45cm

have a mad set of chompers on them

They would be stinky's, or sabre tooth whiting, they are PIKE you have caught there mate.

and are they of any use can you eat them or are they worth keeping for bait

or should i just throw them back ?

and how would you actually rig them up for live bait

ì would whack a 6/0 through the nose and a treble near the tail on 60lb leader minimum...

I once caught a pike at long reef from the rocks and cut it up for bait and caught a heap of big bream!
