Wantingaboat
Hi Raiders, Was wondering if someone can help me with converting kph into knots. I do 60kph flat out in the tinny which seems ok but want to compare it to others so would be helpful if i knew. How fast are others getting their pride and joys? Thanks in advance. Mike. joel99
60km/h = 32.3 knots. You can convert pretty much anything just by punching the values into google check this link http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=60km%2Fh+to+knots
jewgaffer
60km/h = 32.3 knots. You can convert pretty much anything just by punching the values into google It would be good if you had a mouse on board and converted the mouse into a jew, a rat into a hoodlum and converted a catfish into itself inside out, keeping the jew, releasing the kingfish, and last but not least, releasing the catfish under a gas propelled party balloon. Wantingaboat
Byron. I am still interested in how fast others get their boats especially and tinny owners out there. Edited April 2, 2009 by Wantingaboat
austwave
Byron. I am still interested in how fast others get their boats especially and tinny owners out there. 1 knot =1.852km/hr My 4.55 Quinny 60hp 4 stroke yammy does about 28knots fully loaded flat out, about 51km/h Rarely ever gets above 3/4 throttle 20knots and spends most of the time below that. Sammy0884
My last two boats have been surprisingly quick for what they are... My 5.2m Bluefin tinny used to do 40kn with the 4 blade prop and a little quicker with the 3 blade. My new Seafarer did 34-36kn with the 115 merc and now with the 150 ETEC tops out at 50kn+ where water conditions permit.

Wantingaboat
Guys/Girls some of you sound like you got some juicy boats and engines. Could my sounder be of cos i only got a 40hp? Its on a 4.1m tinny but is pretty bare, except for floor, anchor well, battery and two 25l tanks. It felt like it was going pretty fast. Mike. slinkymalinky
Doesn't sound unreasonable... it may only be 40hp but it doesn't have to push too much weight in that rig. 30-40 knots seems to be a pretty average speed in most rigs. Ask GregL or AndyLoops about their rigs though.... Vaaavoooooooooom Cheers, Slinky
DarkHorse
On my 4.3m Stacer with 40Hp 4 stroke I get 29 knots with 2 adults........
