mangonui
hi there, just wondering if someone could give me some idea of the cheapest place around Sydney to get blocks of pilchards for cubing? Any information would be greatly appreciated !
Bentstik
You could try the fish markets
slinkymalinky
PMing replies would also be appreciated. Mangonui... the best way to buy Pilchards is to get 'trap bait' pillies... you can get them by the box from GoFish if you ring and organise them... Give Go Fish Pete a call. Thanks, Slinky

Basil D
3 bucks is a fair call especially if you go through them by the bucket loads
Lineclass
I went to the fish markets today looking for pillies and the only ones obvious were for $7kg and food grade. On questioning one shop had frozen pillies for $10/2kg and they look pretty good. Far better than trap bait pillies, we got some of those from a shop in the Sutherland Shire a few weeks ago and they were terrible. Dan
