Blackfish Spot Parramatta River?

I have never caught a blackfish on weed or bread before. Normally I get them as bycatch.

Are there any decent spots along the Parramatta River where I could reliably find blackfish and have a try?

If there are any local members who would be willing to teach me I'd appreciate it.....

I have a MT4144 which would be ok for blackfish, and I have some blackfish floats here so I think I'd have the right gear.

If anybody can help or offer suggestions I'd love to hear.

In exchange I'd be happy to take you out beach/rock fishing.

I was thinking maybe Balmain? Is that a decent spot?

Hi Beachangler,

I usually go to Clarkes Point, the place hasn't disappointed me yet this season. There's also an area on the eastern side of Greenich sailing club. And yes, at Longnose Point at Birchgrove. Around Gladesville wharf, so many places to try for blackfish mate, weeds is the hardest one to find.

Mate any of the ferry wharfs or any of the rocky points with some deep water along the Parra will work.

Best to try on the last 3hours of a run up tide.

I watched a youtube clip, some guy called chopper landed a nice blackfish at Balmain, thats why I asked.
