Caught Landbased At Middle Head Friday

Hi I caught both these landbased on Friday, as well as a good-sized leathery which made dinner. I threw these back as I was a bit unsure... Did I do the right thing?

i'm sure you can take them home. don't know how they taste though as i've never kept them myself

the left is male crimson banded wrasse and the right is the female

the one on the left is a crimson banded parrot fish and i finished a feed of slightly bigger ones 2 nights ago and they have a really nice white flesh but makesure u brak there necks and put them in a rock pool to bleed em when you catch and stop them from thrashing around and bruising..

the one on the right as saidd above is a female wrasse as far as ive always known

G'day mate, they are both crimson banded wrasse,

the pretty coloured one is the male and brown spotty

one is the female.

That's great - i'll take one home next time - the bigger one was 30cm and looked quite tasty but i wanted to be sure - thanks!
