iMick
Hi all, My first post Fished the Hawkesbury on Monday, tried tee bagging a few deep holes for a school jew on plastic, no luck. Family wanted a feed of Bream so concentrated on the rocky shoreline, some nice fish from 28cm -42cm. Water temp. was down to 13.3, though 14.4 just wide of Juno, few flattie hooked in the warmer water. The photo doesn't seem to do the big Bream any justice, but it was a real honker! I need a brag mat! My PB Black Bream was taken in Berowra about 5 years ago on a yellowtail fillet (destine for a jew), got a photo somewhere, it went to 48.5cm, so 42cm is my PB Yellowfin Bream taken on 3 inch SP. Love know other peoples Bream PB's, Yellowfin and Black.... Edited July 9, 2009 by iMick

jewgaffer
Nice work on the Hawkesbury Bream iMick, and welcome to Fishraider..... We should see a stream of good size table fish being caught in the Hawkesbury holding good water temperature like this at this time of the year... It's usually gets down to around twelve degrees as early as June and that sort of cold usually suits, undersize residents, hairtail and yellowtail more than anything else...... Cheers jewgaffer

iMick
ah damn i need to get out there so there is still fish around....... is the bay any good atm? nice work the bream would be fun on lightgear what jighead weight u used? how deep were they? Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. The river in general seems to be fishing well atm, there has been times where the fishing slowed down. Seems to be good regular Bream around, though I'm not landing as many Flattie as I have been, but they are there 'cause they're being cleaned in front of me at the cleaning tables, some 60+cm. SP's and Blade fishing only for me of late but no jews on artificial, plenty in the past on bait. Hats off to fishos like Musty who have cracked their "jew on lure" system. I use 1/32 jigheads when the conditions allow and up it accordingly, that big bream was caught on a 1/8 cause i ran out of small jigheads, the water was a 10-30 foot drop off next to a rocky shore.
