Mystery Leatherjacket

Can anyone identify this Leatherjacket?? It's been submitted to the records section by flattyslayer but I can't make an id..

I don't think it's a yellow finned Jacket. Notice the distinctive black banded tail and yellow pec fins... it's not a Yellow Striped Jacket I don't think either (at 35cm it also exceeds the max stated size for this species).

Can't find reference anywhere.

i think its a 6 spine,

caught more then one that day,

the black patch near its tail was actually a parisite or growth of some kind, can email a better quality pic to you if you like

ow no that wasnt , i didnt even notice the black stripe on actual tail lol , the growth was just on the body side of the spinny things on tail

Ummm I think you might find thats a Yellowfin Jacket.

6 Spines have the big mark on their side . Plus a couple more spines at the tail.

I'll put a photo up when I get home tonight.

How big was it ... just can't see the tape.... getting old.

I believe they grow to 40cm.
