Jigging Sambos

Recommended Posts

Have recently returned from a Charter jigging Sambos. Double and quadruple hook-ups were common and the fish ranged between 30 - 40kg! ... all fish revived and released. An Amberjack, two Soapies, Snapper, Trevally and Leatherjackets were also among the catch. Not a bad day! :biggrin2:

Right on!.

Boy I am torn between going to Perth to jig for Sambos, and also to Ningaloo to target big bones.

Unfortunately I am back in Alaska...boo hoo and it's -30c and Winter!.

What is with the pic- you look like you are putting an IV into the fish?..LOL

Awesome pics- thanks!

Thanks fellas ... I didn't sleep last night because the adrenalin was still pumping.

The pic is of the Sambo which was recaptured - it was tagged around three years ago.

I think that there are only two places where the Charters leave from... I used Hillaries. The other, further south.

We were fishing 130 metres and were using 350 - 400g knife jigs.

Cheers, Brett

Hey Brett,

Mate that would have been fun - well done.

Gotta a new boat with downrigger etc and a bit bigger.

See ya out there in MH soon.

New boat is a 4.2m Quintrex estuary angler with 40hp yammie. Bought from a fellow raider.

Cheers

Mike
