bunney10
Hi Fellow raiders I am planning a little trip up to Barrington tops over the Xmas period and would like to know where would be a good place to fly fish for trout Thanks in advance Steve
mark1
steve, ive fly fished the barrington tops only once the best luck i had was at the polblue swamp. there is a very small creek that runs through it. the trout were only small but a lot of fun. my folks say they sometimes see other flyfishes up there and i think most of the rivers in that area hold fish, all the best keep us posted with how you go. arpie
No harm in trying, but I think that with the warm weather over Xmas ( it could be up to 40 degrees) I reckon the trout would be finding the deepest, coolest spots to hide from the heat! Trout get stressed in warm water, so I reckon your only real chance would be way up in the upper reaches of the river! Good luck & let us know how you go!
