mrelxr6
Hi guys i have a bit of a problem. i have recently has a back operation.ruptured disc. i own a 4.2 dory that i have owned for 1 year. the dory is tiller steer. since te back operation i have found it uncomfortable driving the boat. constant twisting in the back to tiller steer. since i have owned the boat since new and i know what has been done to the boat since new i was considering changeing the boat to a centre console. could someone put me in the right dirction to do the convesion.? i know i can buy the console and steering gear from bias etc. or would i be better of selling the boat and buying a second hand boat? STACER 4.45 KINGRAY front steer i think i could get $6k/$7k for the dory .15 hours on whole combo fishfinder etc. thought guys?

Dangas
I really like your boat tuffy. Is it a Stacer nomad? where do you sit when you drive it? or do you drive it standing up?
tuffy
I really like your boat tuffy. Is it a Stacer nomad? where do you sit when you drive it? or do you drive it standing up? Thanks Dangas, no mate, it's a Seajay Magnum 4.55 hull and I usually drive it standing up as that allows your legs to act as shockies. At the end of the day I feel less beaten up. But I've usually got a big 80ltr esky which I can sit on as well if desired. Cheers, Russ.

Juggs
thanks russ. went to bias today and i will be looking at atleast $1100. centre console windscreen, steering box, cables steering wheel. then i have to sorce a starter moter and control box for a yamaha 30. i realy think i may be better off selling it. control box is about 500 new rare as hens teeth second hand in good condition adaptor kit about 200 odd for engine end and i assume you still end up with a boat with no ptt youll have to stand behind the console as a console and a pedistal seat will just take up too much room in the boat

bluebottle18
Your doing the right thing. Its a lot easier and less hassle to buy a boat ready to go. There is no savings in doing it your self.Hope you have no problem selling your boat. I`m sure there is a Fishraider just waiting to snap it up. Good idear about upgrading your boat. Its amazing how quickly you outgrow your boat and want something bigger.
