Cork Handle Cracking

Hi, I was wondering how you guys maintain your cork handles on your rods as mine is beginning to crack and split already after about 5 outings

My friend...You dont need maintanence...You need a new rod...

Take it back to where you bought it, that shouldnt be happenning after 5 outings.

I agree Raii. Take it back. I don't do anything to the cork on my rods except wash is after each trip and I've never had the cork fail on a rod.

I tried 'coating' a couple just to see... one with bees wax and one with Lanolin grease. I don't like the feel of the coated cork so I've never bothered with the rest.
