jenno64
Headed out to a different spot in the Georges at the leisurely hour of 9am. Good cloud cover made a late start promising. Had some nice poddies and started a drift only to find the dreaded fine brown weed fouling baits and sinkers. Moved upstream and nailed a nice flatty close to 60cm. Things went quiet as the tide peaked and I pedalled up a kilometre or two to the next bridge for a prospect...no joy here. On the drift back and as the tide picked up, I was being marauded by squid and as I brought my livies to the surface, I quickly switched bait for squid jig. I managed two little squid...not sure if they were arrows and at one stage, I had 2 squid figting over a mullet. Picked up another nice flatty in the mid 50s before the Soueaster picked up. I'm thinking next trip might be to just traget squid...they seem to be everywhere! I was tempted to take my little guy squidding landbased this arvo when the wind dropped off.
