'train' Fish To Come To Private Jetty

Recommended Posts

My mate lives in Hunters Hill on the water and has a small private jetty.

It's pretty close to the public wharf at the end of alexandra st (where quite a few people seem to fish off). .

we were wondering, is it possible at all to 'train' fish to come to his jetty by constantly dropping berley near his jetty every day?

or is this just wishful thinking?

I believe if theres food they will come.

When fishing there use a burley bucket attach it with a rope and that will create a trail.

You can buy burley mixes ready made or what I use is pillies minced up with bread soaked in tuna oil and I freeze them so that as they thore out they create a good trail...

Good luck with it....

Regards,

Nathan

You will attrack fish at the jetty with burley, but they wont stay if there isnt enough structure for them to hide from preditors and the currents, but you will most certanly train the birds.

it works very well get your self a pice of 300 mill sewer pipe drill heaps of holes in it mount it to the jetty and bearly every day or keep it topped up with boinito or other fish frames and bread ,my mates one up in brisbane water works well ,we have got jews on bream gear many times ,I lived at hunters hill for 27 years ,started fishin and pranwing with my dad at a very young age at alexandra st ,it was and would still be one of the best bream spots in the lane cover river ,

100% works.

If he has a floating pontoon or a boat at the end even better as this will give the fish structure to hide under.

I know I have a good school of bream that live under my boat and you can watch them feed most of the day.

Try mix the feed up as if you do it mainly on bread its hard to catch them on anything else but bread.....
