cameldownunder
Hi All I have a bow-rider and I am thinking of: Make a hole in the floor of the bow and screw on a vertical 90 degrees rod holder. Then it would be possible to put a umbrella in there or a little Bow Table (with maybe some rail drink holders.) Making it a lovely place to have a lunch break. What do you think? Do you think making a hole in the bow floor is ok? Any recommendation? Do you thing screwing the rod holder to the floor will give it enough stability? Do I have to reinforce the floor? Anything else I have to watch out for? Any comment are highly appreciated. And NO, i would not go full throttle while the umbrella is still in, or even worse, open !!! cameldownunder
Thanks for the overwhelming response I must assume that nothing is wrong with my plan, and I will go ahead. I will post the Pre and Post pictures as soon as it is done. Thanks

I hate biminis. They get in the way big time. Looking forward to seeing your efforts!! Make sure you don't bore a 50mm hole through anything structural!! DGF
use one of those Seat slot hole things for those removable seats so if you want to take it out you can and it will be lil more secure when it is in just a thought

Sido
Guys, I did the same with my bowrider but used one of the those seat spigots which I screwed into the floor - table screws into this and is great for a picnic with the family. I have a bimini over the front so umbrella not required. Cheers, Sido Edited January 24, 2011 by Sido
