clem
Sorry raiders I am retyping what just took me half an hour to do a second ago Will have to keep it brief in case I make a mistake again. Caught this perch a month ago in the harbour after I was fortunate enough to score a spot on a boat.Did not way it and released it again. Feel free to estimate the stats i.e.weight,size gender etc. Anyway here goes try number 2 with the pic. Has anyone else caught something like this in the harbour? Cheers Clem

bucko48
hi clem that fish looks like a moari cod (epinephelus undulatrostrintus ) and I think it is protected good fish to release but very tasty. regards rex
slinkymalinky
Yep... Maori Cod I think. Nice fish that looks around 1kg. Cheers, Slinky
flicksticker
Looks like a maori cod to me. Estuary cod are usually a lot darker when out of the water.

delta hbar
I'd like to vote for Maori cod too, it seems to have a yellow edge on the tail fins.
clem
Thanks for the input raiders.I settle for "Cod" as it is the closest for me without getting technicle on which kind. AND TO "BASTIK" YOU ARE WAY OUT WITH BOTH ESTIMATIONS BUT I LIKE THE WEIGHT 1. YOU UNDER ESTIMATED ME A WHOLE 25-30KG TOO LIGHT NO OFFENSE TAKEN ON MY SIDE I pleade no comment on the age as I am at least 5years younger so that makes me feel but anyway. Popped out for a quick spur of the moment session last night and managed a nice 33cm bream. I guess I am still the "KING" so far as no one else has caught a good looking cod like me "Sooory Mine" Cheers Clem
