johnv Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 got up early friday mornin 4am weather was good so headed out to botany, water was flat so we headed straight outside trolling lures for about 2hrs head down the coast with no hook ups. Then wonderd a couple of kms of shore for some snapper with no luck there, then we started doing the drifts around and started getting some very under size flatties never seen that many little ones before any way treid another couple of drifts and came across some bigger & legal ones. we got a total 15 flatties & 1 sweep , we also got about 20 nannigais but threw all back due to bein way to small. At about 2 pm the we started trolling lures around the head land to only catch some smelly pikes got back into the bay & wind statred to blow harder we ended up back at ramp all in all had a great day out fishing got back home & had some flatties for tea on the BBQ cheers john
james7 Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 It's hard to beat a good feed of fresh flatties on the BBQ! Top catch John. What depth did you find most of the flatties? How far south did you go, and did you see any bait schools while you were trolling? Cheers Peter
