ollii
hey guys, me and a mate are heading out this sunday morning at about 5 00 down at pittwater, with the intention of catching our first kingys, we are compeletly new to this type of fishing but wanna give it a go. we have a 14.5 ft boat with tiwn 40s on the back, so what do we need to do, what are the best rigs/ bait, what sort of lures to troll, where to get live bait and how, [ will be the first port of call for the morning] what to look for on the sounder [if anyone has any sort of screens shots or websites here that would be awsome, using a black and white humming bird] any locations that are a must try, [ will head to lion island if the swell is ok] any other tips or adivce would be greatly appricated. cheers ollii

Guest Aussie007
if u anchor up and use squid kings often just nibble u will most likely miss the bites they swim up to the bait mouth it than spit it out when i use to anchor to catch kings there bites are the most gentlest things u almost think its a wee little fish nibbling at your bait even a tiny bream gives more of a tug on the rod when biting you can see the kings do this off wharfs that have kings in the warmer months on the surface chuck out a unweighted squid sit and watch but if u want to be more productive in catching kings invest in a downrigger the action is pretty much strait away if they are there and non stop morning and afternoons
