Flattie cross sergeant baker?

Hey guys was plasticing yesterday across main channel of middle harbour and caught what looked a little bit like a flathead crossed with sergeant baker.

Its body was orange and it had large back fins and a few long stringy fins. But it had awesome colours on its wings/side fins. From memory it was a dark blue or black with light blue spots and some other streaks of colour across the wings/side fins.

It also made a weird blurting noise

I'm sure plenty of people know what this fish is and I'd love to know!

was around the 45cm mark and fought very well.Was hoping for a nice flattie but not to be!

Gurnard are a pretty fish and if they're big enough, they're good to eat.
