mercury impeller changing

Hi there raiders , i am looking to do my own service and impeller change on my 2004 merc 25 which is the american model (gear change in the tiller).

I used to do it on my 15 johno but not sure if im up to it on this motor .

Before i have a crack could anyone give me any advice????

My main thoughts are where i will disconnect the gear shift rod.

And when i do disconnect and undo the lower end what gear forward/reverse/ or nuetral ahould it be in???

If anyone can help id be very appreciative.
