J B on sat night Hairtailing

Howdy there again,

Well i got out to JB on sat night with a mate who has never caught Hairtail before and after catching my 1st one last week i thought i was a pro.

Well i am, as we got 5 on board for the night which we where both stoked

only small ones but still better than nothing at all

only a hand full of boats out this time

Sorry I didn't make it to JB like I'd hoped. Partner was keen to see how our dog would handle the boat and National Park's won't let us take her to Appletree Bay. She feels guilty leaving the dog alone on weekends since it frets for us all day while we're at work. I'll have to figure a quicker way to Brooklyn to launch with the dog if we're going to fish Cowan.

Glad to hear you're getting onto them though, I definitely have to give it another try before they leave us again

No i dont use any weight at all

just let it sink then pull up a bit

we caught more by filleting the pilly and using #4 gangs not 4/0
