Pongrass18ft Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Hi Raiders Went out wide today to have a mixed day of fishing. First we filled the live bait tank with slimy mackeral and then we made our way to Browns Mountain to join the car park to fish. It was so busy out there today. First thing was to do a bottom bash and secure a feed of Gemfish which we managed in an hour and a half, with one beauty measuring 1 metre. We then set off southeast of Browns and put out a cube trail for the rest of the day up to 3:00pm to try our luck with the fin but we never found any. We then set off for home with some lures out but it was very quiet out there today, didn't turn a reel all day. The weather and seas were really good today and it's really enjoyable to get out wide from time to time. I have to say, Gemfish have to be one of the tastiest fish in the ocean. Chris
