Not blackies this time, Flathead Hunting Instead

:biggrin2: G'Day Raiders, what a beautiful day for a fish, out today with Hutcho and my Bro-in-law Steve from Darwin..

Today we went on a flattie mission (gave the blackfish a break LOL), went out off Box Head to the 55m mark and started fishing.

We dropped squid strips down that were promptly devoured by flatties of all sizes, we kept a dozen ranging in size from 40-55cms.

We found the little ones were just as hungry too some only 30cms, of course we put a heap back and they all seem to swim of no probs.

We caught about 26-28 all up so it was a fun couple of hours, at this time we decided to go chase some Dusky's at Patonga.

So off we went and found some nice conditions at the wall around from Patonga, we threw some berkley gulps around and managed to

score some small dusky's, they were all released as we had plenty already plus they were only little tackers....

Anyway that was our day and it was good to have Steve along to, he enjoyed his time out there with us on this cracker day, as we

pulled into the boat ramp we were hit by the southerly so the return was spot-on...

Enjoy the pics..

Congrats on the feed.

one of the flatty looks like it has red spots. Is that normal?

Yeah he is just another species of flattie, they were mostly blue spot but there were a couple of sand flatties in the mix and maybe another variety..
