Securing Rods to rocket launchers

Gday all.

Anyone have suggestions around securing rods in the rocket launcher while underway? Recently hit rough water and had to take rods down before they flew out.

I have a peice of shock cord approx 3mm diamater tyed to the rail at each rod holder long enough to reach the reel with a loop tyed in the end hooking the loop over the handle of the reel, it doesn't take much to hold them in.

when trolling I use a 3mm nylon rope with a spring clip on the end for quick release.

A small rubber wedge can be pushed in next to the butt, tie a string or similar to the wedge when you get a stike or need the rod just pull out the wedge or if in a hurry give the rod a sharp tug and out it comes.

Good old occy straps will do the trick

I also use shock cord, works a treat. Run it from one end to the other on the rocket launcher.

I was going to do each rod holder and use clips to secure them but the shock cord has done me well and hasn't let me down yet, and it was cheap.

I have also used wedges to secure them in though the safest option would be a length of cord with a small carribeener style clip clipped onto the base of the reel

occy straps with the hooks opened a bit to fit the bars on the launcher theres no way theyll come out been almost vertical in beach break &they never looked like moving,

look at which size u need might be small ones or medium length depending on the length between reel seat & bars
