  1. What about Suzuki? a 90hp 4st weighs 168kg??? A proven and tested engine too
  2. Hey Dave, Cheers mate for the info. Heading out tomorrow. How wide we talking? Cheers Herbie
  3. HI Paikea, i installed one myself. It was just the wiring harness and the gauge and it displayed everything. You might have to get the dealer to check it out.
  4. You will need a smartcraft cable and depending what gauges you want to run. If you use the system monitor, this is just the smaller square gauge that has all the info. Revs, fuel used, litres per hour, engine temp etc.
  5. Hey mate, i had a 1903, great boat and i imported too. Sold it earlier this year and now have a 2103. any questions give me a yell. My PM has been disabled for some reason??? Stuey any help???
  6. Huey, you are an E-Tec dealer and have complete faith in what you sell. My marine mechanic who i trust completely ( for the past 10 years ) told me to stay away from them, not just from all of the stories you hear about them. The Yamaha you refer to is 2002 to 2004 models which had the problems with corrosion. I was talking about the new 4.2l model. Just because i said something negative about an E-Tec doesn't require such defence, you are a well respected member of this site. I was merely giving some advice, knowledge and opinion based on my experience.

    Boat Advice

Hi mate, i have imported a couple of Trophys from the USA. The 2002 is a nice boat but big and heavy. 2 boats you may consider are: Keywest 2020 WA Seahunt Victory 207 Both under 2Ton to tow so no breakaway crap. http://keywestboatsdirect.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=190&Itemid=68 http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2008/Sea-Hunt-Victory-207-2337686/Toms-River/NJ/United-States Those 2 links are just examples. PM if you need more help.

    Polar Boats?

Go for the Victory 225, very popular boat in the states. The Keywest 2300 bluewater is a great boat too, you can put 300hp on the back! Only issue may be resale here as those 2 are not as popular as some other brands,
  9. Damo you guys have nailed it again, well done on the fish. Bet the clients were stoked. Cheers
  10. Still hoping some good water will move down, a good wahoo was caught on the weekend at the BB tournament. fingers crossed.
  11. Hey Damo, Great footage and nice fish mate. What hooks do you use? Looking at getting into some beakie fishing and would much prefer this method that leaving a hook in them. Cheers HM
  12. do a search on eb@y.com for jacking plate. USA site
  13. Hi Nick, rather than drill more holes in the transom what about a jacking plate? Like this: http://www.$$$$$$$$$$/itm/Hi-Jacker-Jacking-Plate-THM-JP1ADP-/220603336756?pt=Boat_Parts_Accessories_Gear&vxp=mtr&hash=item335cfbc834 I reckon the freight is excessive but you could get it a bit cheaper. Also you can make adjustments yourself to get it spoton! Hope this helps
  14. Furuno 620's are great. You can get them for under $1k from the states.
  15. Good old occy straps will do the trick

    Polar Boats?

Hi, just bought a boat from the US and based on all of the research i did ( a hell of a lot ) come to the conclusion they were not great. I bought a Trophy 2302 based. In the US Trophys don't get the best wrap but they are great boats, yanks just hold onto the Bayliner part and we know how sh*t bayliners are. A few brands that i liked were Keywest, Trophy 2004 onwards, Seahunt ( Triton ) Seaswirl. Check too cause some boats have wood construction and some dont. Polar boats could be ok but not enough research available on OZ forums. Stick with what ya know i reckon. I really liked the Seaswirl 2301 ( 2003 and after no wood ) but didn't buy it as it has no positive buoyancy where as the Trophys do. The Hull Truth is a trove on info, get on there and check it out. Anymore info just PM me, glad to help.
  17. Hey Raiders, i've just bought a Trophy 2302 WA and have space left in the container to fit up to a 19ft Centre Console. If anyone was in the market for one of these boats and needs it shipped PM me. Watercraft mix is sorting it all for me so you could contact them direct to be 100% on everything. You would be looking at 3-4k for that space + share of port charges / unload and GST.
  18. Agreed mate, too many armchair legends carrying on again. I dont think those pics do the fish justice. Everyone is so quick to talk down the size / weight of a fish someone posts on here to let you know whats been caught. I reckon its close to his estimated weight. Look at the 2nd pic, its at least 6 slabs long which would be 6ft!
  19. Nice YFT, well done on 15kg. I like the 2nd pic....... MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM Tuna and Beer!
  20. Heard a couple of big fin were landed today, 70+ kg by mcglashan and another 80+ by another boat. Got a mate who works on one of the charters and that was the chatter.
  21. Check your PM, give me a call for any advice. Cheers
  22. Just madness catching big dollies in July off sydney. Had a few mates on a charter on sunday and they caught 2 dollies. 1 about the same as yours and 1 smaller cow around 15kg. Well done, gonna be hard to top that one in the future!
