At the point where you're no longer "close" is where "wide" comes into play. We really need to create a mid point between close and wide. I propose a vote. "mids" "almosts" "centres" Meanings: "mids" mid way between close and wide "almosts" almost close, almost wide. "centres" in the centre of close and wide. Over to the raiders to vote. Keflapod
Raiders, raiders, raiders, Most people ask me if I was wide last weekend. I say "I was and I still am". More than 97cm around the butt is pretty wide. But don't ask any women as they make take a fence...and hit you with it. I am trying to do something about it though to reduce my width. As cobba has suggested - I vote we use "almosts" because we almosts always do what we are asked, almosts got that nice fish and almosts got her phone number..... We also almosts had the fishraider social at Cook park some weeks ago.... But the weather pushed us wide of the park....(ie more than 97cm) Tony Edited October 14, 2011 by Keflapod

kadavu
U could classify wide as a certain point from shore or what 'you' consider wide. It could also depend on how far you normal go out cause a few propels I know have different definitions of 'wide' based on how far their boat can go out. Hope this helps
tinny1
In my kayak any thing more than 3ks out is wide now that is funny
gamefishn
Mate it's all a state of mind. Years ago to me wide was out through the heads now browns isn't wide any more as I'm there once a week or more when weather permits. I now consider heatons wide, I'm sure if you constantly fish at heatons after a while it won't be wide to u anymore.
GregL
On the east coast really anything east of anything named is "wide"..... Eg. there is Long reef and the eastern side, the deep part is Long reef wide.... But for me I'd call east of browns wide as it's a full hour steam from home for us. BFB
To add another question that needs to be clarified is when are you fishing "outside"?
Keflapod
Crikey, this is turning out to be a fishi-wiki. The next question to be asked will be "Is a yakka a baitfish or a person paddling a kayak " ? Perhaps we should create the fishi-wiki and have a link to it on each page. Outside could be anything from "On the ocean, outside from the river, bay, lake, whatever". Some could even say "Anywhere outside their front door". So if your fishing in the middle of the headlands, you are fishing 'Nowhere"..... Tony
