Travel rod

I am considering purchasing a 3 or 4 piece travel rod that can be fitted into luggage and taken on a plane (can you carry them on - I've had varying advice on this). Looking for something in the 6-7 foot range that will throw light weights for bream, trout, lizards, whiting and so on. Does any one have any suggestions?

Security screening can vary from place to place and it is an argument that you will always lose so it's not worth getting into it with them. That said there has been a recent change for Australia to let rods on board.
