cc118
Hi Raiders, Last week, I took Stephen to some private waters to see if I can get him onto his first river fish. The rivers up in the Blue Mountains are running high and dirty. Shortly into our trip, Stephen did see a fish rise close to the far bank and was able to get his fly on target. Unfortunately, as Stephen went to lift his line to re-cast, the fish came up to take the dry and missed the hook. The rain came down after lunch and my hopes of getting Stephen onto a fish was starting to diminish. By about 3:30pm we had covered a lot of river and started working our way back to the car. Then suddenly, I hear a cry from Stephen… “I’m on”. I look behind to see the bend on his rod. I run over and slip the net under a beautiful little brown that took his dry. Well, it was a tough day, but at least I got Stephen onto his first river fish, and now he is hooked. Regards Caddis
Centrepin
Chris, Bad luck the rivers are still so dirty. We might have a look at the Holanders next weekend, see if it's any clearer. Well done on getting the duck broken. Geoff
Hodgey
That's a great effort in dirty water. It bodes well for the future when the water cleans up. Congrats to Stephen Cheers Hodgey
mr.green84
Hey Chris, Thanks for a great day of fishing the rivers for the first time, it was a hard long day not catching anything but it paid off. I still have a smile from ear to ear, can't wait to fish it when the water run clear. Stephen
dean
Stephen you did well to land a fish in the dirty water. Well done. March is usually a good month in the mountains, if the rivers clear up and rain stays away the fishing should be good right up to the close of season. I'm looking forward to the next couple of months. Cheers, Dean
