brighton le sands
Hey guys I just bought a TT 1/8 blade. it worked pretty well but the problem i encountered with it was the tangles i had on the back of my treble hook. I tied my line to the back hole as i'm using a slow retrieve. If i constantly kept reeling in i would not get any tangles, but the problem with that is i don't want to use that retrieve as it is a bit fast for my liking. The retrieve i wanted to use which got tangled involved me jacking it up letting it sit down on sand for 3 seconds than jacking it up again. ty guys PS: oh yeah, im also using 4 pound braid attached to 4 pound flurocarbon, with a 1-3kg berkley dropshot rod and a small 1000 sized reel Edited April 3, 2012 by brighton le sands
martoiscool
Are you tying your line directly to the blade or are you using the small clip that comes with it?? Use the clip if you can as it will give the blade a better action and let you change the holes very quickly
brighton le sands
Thank you. The reason i removed the clip was because i thought it would give less action, but you have proved me wrong! However even the clip i would get a few tangles when i used a lift, wind, stop retrieve. thanks, Billy
GregL
Also try on a cast retrieve the front hole. I find the back hole better for up down fishing under the boat.
rockfisherman
Those tangles are pretty common with blades
hooklineandsinker
once the blade hits the water are you clicking your bail arm over or letting it sink ?
