To many anglers purchasing the better quality Japanese model reels delivered to there door with change to spare to spool it with the braid of there choice. My local coffee shop will raise their prices tomorrow because the price of milk has gone up from their supplier. I've already had 4 supplier note price increases quoting the tax directly . It's a joke that someone can get voted in ( if that what you call it ) stating no carbon tax, then just bring it in anyway. Any way, my local tackle shop will match pretty much any on line shops price, and you can walk in and talk to them. cheap charlie Posted May 31, 2012 Share Posted May 31, 2012 Speaking of the Carbon Tax, my father is an Auto Elec who also specialises in Air Con, He found out from his supplier of the refridgeration gas that his gas price was going to increase from $350 to near $1000. Most of the competition has already started rising the prices up around the $500 mark. Reminds me of Howards campaign for the top job promising there would be no GST introduction... K Rudd for PM... shak4g63 Posted May 31, 2012 Share Posted May 31, 2012 Some greedy retailers start jacking prices up making fools of the public I remember talking to one of the fruit suppliers when the banana crops were destroyed, he told me there was still old priced bananas in supply and some shops started jacking up prices before the expensive ones even came through. kulch Posted May 31, 2012 Share Posted May 31, 2012 Well they profiteered when the dollar jumped from 80c to $1.10 - close to 30% hike in profits now that the dollar is on the slide again back under $1.00 - its going to eat away at their margins from 12months ago - but still well above their margins from 10 years ago. They are just being greedy, and have a good stranglehold on this market thru a good reputation in quality - people will still pay up for local warantee - especially if our dollar slides even furthur, which would make internet shopping less attractive. I got it at the current price. But you can already see on online shop $350 dollar reels buy it now, are now around $380-400.
