scaffsta Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 (edited) Hi all firstly not sure where i should of posted this but, today on my way home from work i picked up the Mosman daily on the train & found an article stating, That the Spit bridge will be closed to all marine traffic for 14 days from Monday 14th - Sunday 1st of July for upgrading. The 10.6million state government project involves installing new electrical cables & a new motor, brake & gearbox to improve the operating system that opens & closes the bridge. It will be closed to pedestrians cyclists & motorists between 1am & 4am June 18 & monday 2 July. So looks like during that time will have to launch the boat from other ramps Just incase anyone wasnt aware. Glad i picked up the paper, hope im not wrong has anyone else heard this ??? Cheers Steve. lostproperty Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 This is so stupid, as soon as they open the ramp at Roseville, you won't be able to get passed the spit for another 2 weeks ! They should be doing this now while the ramp is closed, ggrrrrrr
Berleyguts Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I suspect it means they won't be opening the bridge in that time. Surely small boats can pass under! Baz

Baz yeah, it actually says "will not be opening" - not that "it will be closed".... http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/roadprojects/projects/sydney_region/northern_sydney_region/spit_bridge/index.html
