flycaster Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Hi Raiders Caddis and I fished Thommo's yesterday (Sunday) in freezing cold and very windy conditions. We even had sleet at some times. Needless to say we saw very few fish and may have broken one off. The weather forecast was for cold but sunny. As usual we had five seasons in one day. Another donut. Flyfishermen being the tough insane people that they are will no doubt head back for more of the same in the not-to-distant future. Kindest regards to all Flycaster and Caddis (Ross and Chris)
taloyoak Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Thanks for the report guys, Just reaffirms I won't be heading there anytime soon. How many other fisherman did you see there? Cheers, Nan
foolforjesus Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I've been fishing good ol Thommo's most weekends still, and if you fish at the right time, there are still good fish to be caught. My last trip, two weeks ago, I got three male rainbows in the space of one hour, one at 4.5lb, two over 5.5lb. I was only there for two hours! If you treat her right, she likes to reward!
Rich P Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 We have been going weekdays lately as it has been busy on weekends. Been getting good numbers on fly and spin in the SW corner. The SE has been copping a flogging lately so we moved sides and were amazed at the quality of the fish we had been catching.most success comes from plastics though. Hope it helps. Cheers Rich
