jewfisher
Gday guys, Went out today with my brother, and a few mates out on their boat. On the water at 3am, no luck with squid till 5am. spotted some surface action, so we checked it out. Turned out to be slimey's, got 5 into the tank. Trolled various spots with no luck, headed to rose bay around 8.30am and my brother threw out a livie, put the rod into the rod holder, turned his back and sat down, looked up and he was on! Never seen line pulled out so hard with the drag done up tight. He said it was over a metre, but i couldnt believe it until ive seen it with my own eyes. After about 10-12 minute fight, it surfaced and i couldnt believe the size of this thing. Few weeks back i threw out the gaff due to rust, and had only the net which was no help. I got down and managed to grab the kingie behind its gills and pull this monster in. It went 125cm and 15kg. We were wrapped. Who ever saw the kingie couldnt believe we pulled it out of sydney harbour. Video coming soon.
350chev
Mate what a ripper. Did you troll the livie? I've heard of big kings lurking around the moored boat at rose bay but never actually seen one. You now confirmed. Great fish , would have gone like a train. martymonsta
Dude, I can't believe how calm you were during that fight Loved how the boat was getting turned by the fish during the fight. What sort of gear did you land it on? Was thinking that you might be close to losing it as the fish's head was inside the net but congrats for pulling it off! Great fish Marty

exhail
Ha ha, best net fumbling action followed by a miraculous gill grab! Well done on the 35lb mono! The fish looks a bit skinny through the stomach, very similar to one I got from the 12 mile a couple of months ago. What was in its gut?

jewfisher
We caught the slimeys about 200m from middle head, going towards manly. We seen surface action so we thought we'll try some lures, also spotted them west of bradleys head. Thanks for all the positive comments guys!
