Benzeenees
We are having no problems catching yakkas - getting them 3 or 4 at a drop on sabiki jigs. But we would like to have a few slimeys in the tank as sometimes the kings seem to prefer them. Any thoughts on how to round up slimeys instead of yakkas? Scratchie
Just a matter of picking through them. I find up here at port stephens, the slimey s seem to sit a little further off the headland than the yakkas. Just my general observation. Hope that helps. Cheers scratchie!!! SargeRX8
Round them up as you would the yakka. Be warned though they will bust hooks off your sabiki.
mako2000
If you are burleying them up to the boat, normally the slimies will sit wide of the boat and nearer the surface than yakkas, an unweighted bait on a hand line thrown out a wider normally does the trick. Benzeenees
Thanks Mako - will give it a try. But we are now so good at getting yakkas that we don't need to burley for them! Will take some bread next time for the slimeys.
