Hey guys what's the limit on yakkas for bait I wanna load up for next weekends fishing

I've read a few books and papers referring to them as a member of the scad family.

From what I've read, Yakka is an alternative name for Yellowtail Scad

It's 50 if you're not going for the other species listed on NSW DPI website or 50 total combined if you are.

If your going to freeze them, dont. They are useless after you freeze them

I only want them for burley so freezing won't be a problem for me. They will only end up in the pot

I fillet the larger ones, add salt to both sides, leave in a tray in the fridge for a day, then stick a few fillets into each plastic bag and freeze. Have used the fillets several months after freezing and find the fish still like eating them.
