Choicebro
Decided to go for a quick flick this morning, haven't been out for a while due to other committments so it was a last minute decision. Loaded up the boat and headed to Tonkin park ramp in Cronulla where I usually put the boat in. I like it there it's only 2 minutes from my place. Headed out to one of my usual squid spots and set up my rig with a Yamashita Rlolc 2.5. First cast, nothing. 2nd cast nothing 3rd cast, caught the weed, or so I thought.... Weed doesnt fight back, next thing the braid starts to peel of and I think what have I got here?? Do I tighten the drag? no, be patient I tell myself. So I play it out, heart beating out of my chest as I know its not just a squid but a good squid. As it gets close to the boat, I see it. My god it is huge.... I bring it in close to the boat and reach out to grab it. I pick it up behind the eyes and it grabs me. No getting away now buddy, we both have each other... Get it in the boat and into the bucket it goes, only it doesnt fit so good in my 20L squid bucket, oh well it will have to do. Big smile on my face and a couple of smaller squid later I call it a day. Measured 38cm hood length. Definately my new PB for Southern Squid. Going to have to try Incredible Hull's S&P squid recipe tonight. Cheers Choicebro

Well done! Can only assume they're gonna get bigger. Enjoy the feed. Cheers Paul
