Snapperless
Seized an opportunity this afternoon to wet a line at Maroubra. A solid ground swell and high tide forced me to higher ground. On sunset, using squid for bait, I caught a 42 cm squire, and a salmon around 2 kg. By 6:10 pm, I pulled up stumps due to no light.

Snapperless
Hi Shole01, When I eat my fish, I become snapperless and need to go fishing again. I am still trying to catch a snapper (must have a hump on its head or over 6 lb) from the rocks. Regards

Pat Williams
Nice fish. Are you fishing the bottom there? Or burley up the wash and fish floaters?

slam354
Nice fish. Are you fishing the bottom there? Or burley up the wash and fish floaters? By the looks of the photo looks like a paternoster rig sinker to the left of the photo. I would say he was fishing Mistral Point which is a high ledge snapper spot very reefy hence the need for this rig,
Snapperless
PatW, Fishing the sandy bottom past the reef . Need a cast of about 80 m. The spot is called The Stake, south of Mahon pool. The stake in the rock is long gone. A popular blackfish spot.
jenno64
Wow...an 80m cast would be competitive in an Alvey casting comp! Sounds like a good spot for a kayak to get to!

Pat Williams
Hey Snapperless, Thanks for the info, I fish for them on the northern beaches. Been a few in close feeding in the washes this last few days with the southerly swell, just gotta fire 'em up with a heap of burley and then you can get em on floaters
