St Croix rods

Hey All,

I went a bit of whim and bought a St Croix Triumph Surf rod in the 9 foot length online. Although you can't really get them here they seem like decent quality of rod. I chose it because it's going to be a all purpose beach rod that will hopefully fling plastics, metals, blades, HBs and baits. Maybe even a bit of rock spinning too. The specs say it can handle 8lb -20lb and cast 15g - 75g lures. So hopefully this will cover a lot of fishing from bream flathead etc to tailor and salmon.

I'm matching with a new Okuma Trio 40 bait feeder with 10lb power pro. I decided to go lighter as I thought it might cast further when I'm using the lighter scale of lures. I'm leaning towards finesse over skull dragging.

Any thoughts on the rod. It's too late to change but just interested in Raiders opinions

Cheers

I built up a 9' 10-25lb blank, more a 8-15lb rod, softer then I was expecting but did have power down low. Has been a good rod for throwing sp's n metals at salmon, bonnies etc

that sound like pretty much what i want...i need the soften
