Kooks Posted July 14, 2013 Share Posted July 14, 2013 Hey All, I went a bit of whim and bought a St Croix Triumph Surf rod in the 9 foot length online. Although you can't really get them here they seem like decent quality of rod. I chose it because it's going to be a all purpose beach rod that will hopefully fling plastics, metals, blades, HBs and baits. Maybe even a bit of rock spinning too. The specs say it can handle 8lb -20lb and cast 15g - 75g lures. So hopefully this will cover a lot of fishing from bream flathead etc to tailor and salmon. I'm matching with a new Okuma Trio 40 bait feeder with 10lb power pro. I decided to go lighter as I thought it might cast further when I'm using the lighter scale of lures. I'm leaning towards finesse over skull dragging. Any thoughts on the rod.
